Ag World Golf Classic donates $93K to Ronald McDonald House, in spite of challenging year
Ag World Support Systems’ fundraiser was founded by Warren Henninger, who died earlier this year. The event also saw postponements and cancellations due to COVID.
The seventh annual event was originally scheduled to add a second date in 2020, but both the Kennewick and Moses Lake, Washington, dates were postponed from June to August due to COVID-19 restrictions. The Kennewick portion of the fundraiser eventually had to be canceled due to area COVID-19 gathering restrictions.
In May, Ag World Support Systems and fundraiser founder Warren Henninger suffered a fall at his home and died eight days later.
“With COVID-19 restrictions and the passing of Ag World Support Systems and the Ag World Golf Classic’s Founder, Warren Henninger, it was uncertain if this charity tournament could be held this year,” said Melanie Finch of Ag World Support Systems and Warren Henninger’s daughter. “We are so grateful for the show of support this year both for our founder Warren Henninger and for the Ronald McDonald House Charities — both honoring Warren’s legacy and caring for those in need through giving to the House.”
This year’s Ag World Golf Classic was aided by 82 sponsors and donors and saw 133 participants.
Next year’s events are scheduled for June 8 and 10 in Moses Lake and Kennewick. Visit agworldgolf.com for more information.
