Ag drone spraying approved in Wisconsin, could come to other states soon
Rantizo just became first company approved for agricultural drone spraying in Wisconsin, which follows its recent approval for ag drone spraying in Iowa.
“(Since the approval in Iowa,) we’ve had requests for cover crop seeding, fungicide applications, even liquid copper sulfate spraying to control moss,” said Michael Ott, Rantizo CEO. “We’ve had calls with growers in almost every state in the country at this point.”
With record levels of rainfall this year resulting in delayed planting of corn and soy crops, the approval for Rantizo’s drone-based services comes at a crucial time for midwestern growers needing fungicide and insecticide applications.
Rantizo will continue to seek drone spraying approval with agriculture departments in other states.
“Gaining our approval in Iowa first meant that we could not only serve our home state first, but quickly expand into other Midwestern states and perpetuate the regulatory approval process,” said Craig Perry, Rantizo’s director of operations. “We are seeing this with our approval into Wisconsin now and will have several other states’ approval in the very near future.”
With Rantizo’s drone technology, the company claims they will be able to reach more fields in less time bringing opportunity for fruitful harvests to more Midwestern growers than ever before.
The company has several upcoming demonstrations on the books including in both Janesville, Wisconsin and near LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Soon, Rantizo will be flying a demonstration in Monticello, Iowa and Hills, Iowa. Email info@rantizo.com for more information.
