Aug 31, 20202021 Idaho Potato Conference canceled
The in-person Idaho Potato Conference scheduled for January 2021 in Pocatello has been canceled.
According to an email update from organizer Spectra Productions, the in-person cancellation stems from unavailability of Idaho State University’s Pond Student Union, which is now scheduled to host student classes because of social-distancing needs.
“ISU is planning on conducting face-to-face instruction, and due to physical distancing, they are holding classes in a majority of the event spaces such as the Pond Student Union,” the email read. “Since the rooms normally used for seminars and workshops will now be classrooms, they are unable to host the (Idaho) Potato Conference.”
Alternatives, such as virtual presentations, are being explored.
The next in-person Idaho Potato Conference is now scheduled for Jan. 19-20, 2022.
Eastern Idaho Ag Expo
The Idaho Potato Conference will not take place, but organizers are moving forward with plans for the Eastern Idaho Ag Expo at ISU’s Holt Arena that normally coincides with the conference. Tentative dates are Jan. 19-21, 2021.
