BASF creates Priaxor® fungicide to protect potatoes

Having issues with disease this growing season? BASF is here to help.

At BASF, it is our goal to help growers get the most out of each of their acres,” said Jennifer Holland, U.S. crop protection marketing.

Priaxor® fungicide does just that.

“Priaxor fungicide is a dual mode of action solution that helps growers maximize disease control and protect yield,” Holland said. “It is a disease management tool for potato growers looking to control rhizoctonia, black dot and early blight.”

“It was important to create a fungicide for potatoes that provides broad-spectrum disease control, because disease complexes evolve rapidly in this crop segment,” she said. “Growers tell us they need innovative disease management solutions. Priaxor fungicide will fit this need.”

Priaxor fungicide fits well into any potato grower’s disease management program.

“We advocate that growers use Priaxor fungicide as part of their planned and comprehensive disease management program,” Holland said. “For the control of early blight and black dot, 4 to 6 fluid ounces per acre is the labeled rate. Always read and follow labeled instructions, and if you have any questions, contact your local BASF representative.”

Aside from Priaxor fungicide, BASF has created a potato portfolio to combat a long list of potato-related conditions.

“The BASF potato portfolio is a robust solutions portfolio that includes tools that build an industry-leading agronomic recommendation,” Holland said. “Endura® fungicide is the highest performing and most proven tool for controlling white mold in potatoes. Outlook® herbicide and Prowl® H20 herbicide are part of the BASF herbicide portfolio, and deliver excellent control of small-seeded broadleaf weeds and grasses.”
