Suzy Favor Hamilton is new spokesperson for Wisconsin potatoes

Three-time Olympian Suzy Favor Hamilton has been named the spokesperson for Wisconsin potatoes. Favor Hamilton, a native of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, won 11 state high school titles, 9 NCAA championships at the University of Wisconin-Madison and was named Big Ten Athlete of the Decade in the 90s. She competed in the 800 meter, 1500 meter and cross-country at the University of Wisconsin. She competed in the 1992, 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympic Games.

Duane Maatz, Executive Director for the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable growers Association (WPVGA) said Suzy is a perfect fit to deliver the message that potatoes are nutritious and fit into an active, healthy lifestyle. She’s accomplished a lot in her lifetime and overcome hurdles as well. She understands the importance of eating right and she knows how to motivate people.”
