USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has changed the number of states in its spring potato planting report for 2016, from four to two.
NASS has removed Arizona permanently from its spring prospective planting estimate and moved North Carolina to its summer estimate program.
Florida and California now comprise the NASS spring report. The 2016 total acreage estimated for the two states is 55,000, an increase of 2,000 acres compared to the 2015 total for the two states.
