Maine Potato Board recognizes 18-year contributor
Potato industry veteran George McLaughlin has been recognized by the Maine Potato Board for his 18 years of service.
Potato industry veteran George McLaughlin has been recognized by the Maine Potato Board with the 2026 Maine Potato Industry Recognition Award.
McLaughlin was hired as the board’s agricultural engineer in 2008, beginning an 18-year career with the organization. In his role, he supported growers in projects from designing storage building and irrigation systems to obtaining federal and state funding.
In a statement, the board thanked McLaughlin for his years of service
“Through his dedication, knowledge, and unwavering support of Maine potato growers and the agricultural community, he will leave a lasting and irreplaceable impact on the industry,” the statement read in part.
