Bayer CropScience offers sustainability award

Bayer CropScience is seeking applicants for its Young Farmer Sustainability Award. The fifth annual award recognizes agricultural producers, age 40 and under, who receive at least half of their income from farming and farm-related venture.

Applicants are judged on the following criteria: entrepreneurial initiative and adoption of new approaches to farming-50 percent; environmental and other on-farm sustainability efforts-30 percent; and economic stability and sustainability-20 percent. Application deadline is Jan. 16, 2015.

The winner will receive a state-of-the-art drone with camera, a scholarship to a Farm Journal learning event of their choice and all-expense paid trips to the 2015 Ag Issues Forum, from Feb. 24-25, and the Commodity Classic, from Feb. 26-28, 2015 in Phoenix.
