Jun 1, 2017NPC’s Kam Quarles
Last December, Kam Quarles joined the National Potato Council (NPC) as its new vice president of public policy. He has spent 20 years representing the specialty crop industry, including potatoes, in a number of different roles. Prior to joining the staff of the NPC, he was a private contractor lobbying on the potato industry’s behalf.
“I really enjoy working with this association,” Quarles said. “They have some tremendous members that are doing great work on a number of important issues for the industry.”
John Keeling, executive vice president of the NPC, said, “We are delighted to welcome Kam to the NPC. Over the past seven years he has shown great skill advocating on our behalf on federal issues.”
Previously at McDermott, Will & Emery, Quarles worked to resolve complex regulatory, communication and public relations issues for international businesses, public agencies and national trade associations including the National Potato Council. Prior to his seven years representing NPC at McDermott, Quarles served as vice president for government relations at United Fresh Produce Association and vice president of government affairs at the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives. Quarles holds a master’s degree in international commerce and policy from George Mason University.
