United Potato Growers of America announced its 2008 corporate partners: Bayer CropScience, AMVAC Chemical Corp. and WinField Solutions. The partnerships are part of UPGA’s United Potato Partners sponsorship program.
New partner Bayer CropScience will work with UPGA to launch potato educational seminars in the major U.S. potato growing regions. The seminars will teach potato growers how they can sustain and stabilize their operations as part of a sustainable agriculture and world food supply effort.
Also partnering with UPGA is AMVAC Chemical Corporation, a specialty and agriculture products company. AMVAC trains individuals in the safe and proper handling of their products and will work through UPGA to train UPGA members at seminars in the major U.S. growing regions.
Through its partnership with UPGA, WinField Solutions, an agriculture product distributor owned by Land O’Lakes Inc., has negotiated a value-added, corporate program agreement. UPGA members will earn a rebate on crop protection products when purchased through its aligned cooperative and dealer network. As Agriliance, WinField Solutions provided a similar program in 2007.
