PILI elects Cheff 2016 grower leader

The Potato Industry Leadership Institute (PILI) class of 2015 elected Bridget Cheff of Ronan, Montana its 2016 grower leader. PILI is sponsored by Syngenta and administered by the U.S. Potato Board and the National Potato Council (NPC).

From Feb. 18-25 the PILI class of 2015, composed of 27 potato growers and industry representatives from across the nation, spent three days in eastern Washington state learning about the local and national potato industry.

The group then traveled to Washington, D.C., to participate in the NPC’s Potato D.C. Fly-In, where they attended discussions on public policy, proposed legislation and regulatory practices impacting agriculture and the potato industry.

The program ended with a day of visiting legislators and legislative aides on Capitol Hill.
