Gunnerson Named President of Northern Plains

The Northern Plains Potato Growers Association (NPPGA) Board of Directors has named Chuck Gunnerson of Ada, Minn., as President of the association that serves potato growers and shippers in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Gunnerson has been interim president since replacing Duane Maatz last October. NPPGA is based in East Grand Forks, Minn.

I am glad to announce that Chuck Gunnerson will be our next president at NPPGA. Chuck has a vast knowledge of the potato Industry both on a local and national level. He has my respect and I consider him a huge asset to NPPGA,”” said Josh Heuchert, NPPGA board chairman.

Gunnerson farmed near Ada and owned Ada Produce Company, a potato wash plant facility, until he retired in 2004. Gunnerson is a past chairman of the Red River Valley Potato Growers Association (currently NPPGA). He has served as president of the National Potato Council and has been chairman of the Northern Crops Council and has served as the Minnesota Area One Potato Council Representative. “I am looking forward with great anticipation, to continue working with growers and industry representatives, as President of the Northern Plains Potato Growers Association. I see a bright and rewarding future ahead and am honored to be chosen to represent potato growers here in North Dakota and Minnesota,” Gunnerson said.
