The World Potato Congress has added Greg Donald, general manager of the Prince Edward Island Potato Board, to its board of directors.

Donald has been part of the potato industry for more than 25 years. That includes five years with McCain Foods in New Brunswick in the areas of agronomy, potato production, potato procurement and green crop field management and 14 years with Cavendish Group in management positions in the agricultural crop input business in Atlantic Canada and Maine.
“The World Potato Congress is pleased to welcome Greg Donald to its board,” WPC President Romain Cools said in a press release. “Mr. Donald brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the potato sector and will be a great asset to the board of directors.”

Donald, who has led the PEI Potato Board since 2009, holds a master’s degree in plant protection from Dalhousie University. He also participates in a number of local and industry organizations, including as a director with the Kensington North Watershed Association, a member of the Prince Edward Island Institute of Agrologists, a director with the Food Island Partnership, a director of the Farm & Food Care PEI, a director with the PEI Farming 4R Island, a director of the Canadian Potato Council and a director of the United Potato Growers of Canada.
The next World Potato Congress is scheduled for May 31-June 3, 2021, in Dublin, Ireland.
