USDA-certified organic farming operations rose 4% in 2018
The number of certified organic operations in the United States reached 27,494 in 2018, up by 4.4% from the previous year.

The number of certified organic operations in the United States reached 27,494 in 2018, up by 1,093 over the 2017 count, according to the USDA’s “Organic Insider” newsletter. The number of international operations certified was up 713 to just over 15,500.
Together these totals represent a 4.4% increase, bringing the total USDA Certified Organic Operations to just over 43,000.
There are 1,568 entries in the database for certified organic potatoes.
