Study finds consumers’ love for potatoes remains strong
For the ninth year in a row, Americans named potatoes as their favorite vegetable. Discover more findings of an annual survey.
Those are some of the findings of the 2025 Consumer Attitudes & Usage study. The online survey, conducted annually to gauge attitudes toward foods — potatoes in particular — was conducted in February and included results from 2,000 respondents balanced to current census data on gender, income and age, according to Potatoes USA.
The study (.pdf) also found that 81% of respondents eat at least one serving of potatoes per week.
While the study found a strong belief in potatoes’ nutritional benefits, those who did not eat more potatoes listed reasons including perceptions that spuds are high in carbohydrates and fattening.
