Jan 10, 2018Registration for this year’s Ag World Golf Classic underway
The Ag World Golf Classic charity fundraiser, coming off a record-setting year, is gearing up for the 2018 event, set for June 13 at Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick, Washington.
In 2017, area producers, processors and industry-related businesses raised $73,492 to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities Inland Northwest at the fourth annual event, held at Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick. A total of 118 sponsors/donors and 144 golfers combined in the fundraising effort. The check was presented to Ronald McDonald House in December after finalizing all donations.
The Ag World Golf Classic was born out of a vision to help families with children who have severe medical needs. Warren Henninger, founder/chairman of Ag World Support Systems, caught the vision to host a Columbia Basin event to support the Ronald McDonald House Inland Northwest in Spokane, Washington. Having a grandson born with many medical needs heightened his desire to help families in similar situations. After several years participating in golf tournaments in the province of Manitoba, Canada for the Ronald McDonald House Canada, Henninger decided to host a similar event here in the Inland Northwest.
Through the generosity of sponsors, donors and golfers, the Ag World Golf Classic has donated $233,480 over the past four years to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Inland Northwest. The tournament is part of Ag World Support System’s campaign to make a difference in the community by supporting the Ronald McDonald House’s mission to strengthen local families and promote children’s health. In 2017, Ag World Support Systems was joined by co-hosts Simplot, Lamb Weston, McCain Foods and Potato Growers of Washington.
Registration for this year’s event is now open at AgWorldGolf.com.
