Psyllid workshops in Tri-States

There are several psyllid/zebra chip/insect recognition workshops planned this spring in Oregon, Idaho and Washington.

In Oregon, the Rondon entomology lab offers two workshops on potato psyllid and zebra chip identification. The workshops will be designed to help those in potato production prepare or review psyllid monitoring techniques and potato psyllid identification.

These workshops will be offered at the Hermiston Agricultural Research and Extension Center: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. May 15, and 9 a.m. to noon May 24. For more information, call Annette Teraberry at 541-567-6337 or email [email protected].

Workshops in Idaho and Washington workshops have an open format, and people are invited to come at any time. If you have your own traps from the field and would like help evaluating them, bring them.

Washington workshops, including help with beet leafhopper and tuberworm traps, will be from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 3 in Eltopia at the Ag Development Group Research Farm, 2621 Ringold Road; and from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 4 in Moses Lake at the Washington State Potato Commission office, 108 S. Interlake Road.

There will be three workshops in Idaho: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. May 28, Parma Research and Extension Center, 29603 U of I Lane, Parma; 10 a.m. to noon May 29, Miller Research LLC, 426 E. 200 North, Rupert; and 10 a.m. to noon May 30, Idaho Falls Research and Extension Center, 1776 Science Center Drive.
