The 2005 University of Idaho Potato Conference will be held Jan. 18-20 at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. The conference will feature two days of educational sessions. The Ag Expo will begin Jan. 18 and run through the end of the conference.

The value of Washington’s agricultural production for 2003 reached a near record $5.75 billion, 3.1 percent above 2002, according to the USDA Washington Agricultural Statistics Service. The record stands at $5.88 billion, which was set in 1995.

The Panamanian Ministry of Agriculture has signed the U.S. Seed Potato Market Access protocol, which provides clear and attainable requirements for seed potato exports to Panama. With this agreement, U.S. exporters can ship seed potatoes to Panama with little difficulty.
