NASS releases crop production report

The National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) 2013 crop production report shows 936,000 harvest acres of fall potatoes. The 2013 total is a decrease of 63,000 acres from the 2012 total of 989,000.

The NASS report indicates that 2013 yield per acre will increase six cwt to 429 cwt compared to 423 cwt in 2012.

Total fall production in 2013 will be 401,500 cwt, down 16,463 cwt from 417,963 cwt in 2012.
