From weather to equipment breakdowns, there are many sources of stress for farmers and farm families.
Researchers at Michigan State University Extension are conducting a research study to learn more about struggles farmers experience, in addition to what types of information may help. Participants in the study will receive text messages over 12 weeks with information and resources relating to both stress and coping strategies for managing stress.
This study is open to Michigan farmers who produce and sell more than $1,000 of agricultural products per year. Eligible participants will be compensated with a $40 Amazon gift card at the end of the study. A small number of participants will be chosen at random to participate in a 30-minute phone interview, for which they will be compensated with a $20 Amazon e-gift card.
