IPC to open South Korea office

The Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) is planning to open an office in South Korea this fall. The office will probably be in Seoul, according to an email response from Seth Pemsler, IPC vice president-retail/international.

South Korea is the third largest export market for fresh potatoes, with over $6 million, 16.6 metric tons, exported to Korea in 2011.

The IPC recently opened a new office for Latin America with the same firm representing the IPC in Mexico in Mexico City.

The IPC also has international offices in Hong Kong, with three satellite offices in China and Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, covering Southeast Asia.
