BASF has a robust potato portfolio for growers looking to control diseases, help improve quality and maximize yields. It’s called Grow Smart” and the company believes it will help growers get the most out of every acre.

We sat down with Jennifer Holland, U.S. crop protection marketing, to learn more about BASF’s Grow Smart campaign.

Spudman: Can you tell me a little bit more about Grow Smart?

Jennifer Holland: Grow Smart is a partnership between BASF and growers that focuses on the specific needs of an operation. The Grow Smart platform focuses on delivering a personalized, integrated experience that puts our best agronomic insights and solution to work for growers.

S: What tools are included in the Grow Smart portfolio for potatoes?

JH: The Grow Smart tools include two Advantage programs, Planning Advantage and Finance Advantage, which are aim to help growers by providing ways to increase yield potential, save money, and enhance the return on their agronomic investment.

Part of the Grow Smart portfolio for potatoes is our product, which includes a number of best in class offers, including Endura fungicide and Priaxor fungicide. Endura is a premier white mold solution with more than 10 years of proven disease control. Priaxor is a dual-mode of action fungicide aimed at controlling Black Dot, Rhizoctonia, and Early Blight.

S: Why was it important to develop a potato specific portfolio?

JH: Potato growers face a number of challenges in any given season and pests are a significant one. Disease resistance is constantly evolving, so BASF is committed to continuously providing growers new solutions to stay ahead of the game when it comes to pest management.

S: How do you hope growers use the Grow Smart portfolio for potatoes?

JH: The Grow Smart portfolio for potatoes is a natural fit for growers planning process. BASF and growers can partner to ensure growers get the most out of every acre by using a collaborative approach to their operation.
