GROPRO approved for six products by organic institute

The importance of organic production in the U.S. continues to rise with total sales of organic products in 2019 hitting $55 billion.

Currently, the U.S. is the biggest global market for organic products, followed by Germany and France.

To meet this growing market demand GROPRO Corp., a U.S.-based producer and supplier of bio-pesticides and bio-fertilizers has been approved for six OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) listed materials. With these certifications GROPRO brings a wide and effective portfolio into the organic agricultural market.

With GROPRO materials focusing on nematicide (product Vigilance), fungicides (biofungicide Zayin), sporicide/bacteriacide (Reckoning), insecticides (bio insecticide Wrath), mosquitos (Skeeter), gastropods (Stomp), farmers have products that will provide active control and residual actions. This line will provide growers with the efficacy that they have been wanting in an organic IPM program.

One of GROPRO’s flagship products is Vigilance nematicide, which protects potato roots but also adds no stress to the whole plant. Trials show that potato plants treated with Vigilance are visibly healthier above the ground and have no evidence of stress after treatments.

According to data from the Organic Trade Association, organic fruit and vegetable sales in 2019 were up about 5%, to the level of $18 billion, and organic fruits and vegetables (fresh, frozen, canned and dried) now account for about 15% of the fruits and vegetables market in the U.S.

Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) is a nonprofit organization that provides an independent review of products, such as fertilizers, pest controls and livestock health care products that are intended for use in certified organic production/processing. Products accepted by the organization are then OMRI Listed and appear on the OMRI Products Lists.
