Sep 5, 2019Far West Agribusiness Association director Fitzgerald announces retirement
Far West Agribusiness Association (FWAA) Executive Director James Fitzgerald will retire effective Jan. 1, 2020. He has held the post since 2008.
Fitzgerald will continue to assist the FWAA with legislative sessions while lending support to the new executive director and staff through May 1, 2020.
“Our goal is to provide a seamless transition in leadership as we begin a new decade of challenges,” said FWAA President Don Eucker. “Jim has taken us through our 50th and 60th anniversaries, growing both the association and its influence. Now, we have the arduous taks of finding a suitable replacement.”
Far West Agribusiness is a regional trade association made up primarily of agricultural retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers and agronomists. The organization provides crop inputs and services in Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington, including legislative, regulatory, continuing education and training for its members. Also, FWAA administers the Certified Crop Adviser Program for the aforementioned states plus Alaska and British Columbia.
