Dyer new agronomist for MPB

The Maine Potato Board (MPB) has hired Jake Dyer as its agronomist and crop and variety development specialist.

Dyer will work with the University of Maine’s potato breeding program to develop and field trial new varieties.

He will also work with developing crop rotations and alternative crops to be grown in conjunction with potatoes.

Dyer previously managed the University of Maine’s J.F. Witter Teaching and Research Center from 2007 to 2015.

He has a bachelor’s degree in sustainable agriculture from the University of Maine.
