Derek Davenport, of Kennewick, Wash., has been elected commissioner for the Washington State Potato Commission (WSPC). Davenport will fill an open at-large position on the WSPC. His three-year term begins July 1.
Davenport is the general manager for Allied Potato Northwest in Pasco, Wash. He oversees all the farm operations, including growing, packaging and shipping of potatoes.
Davenport is a University of Idaho graduate with a degree in agriculture and a minor in Spanish.
