Comment period extended for proposed revisions to WPS

EPA is extending the comment period for proposed revisions to the agricultural Worker Protection Standard (WPS) an additional 60 days, until Aug. 18.

The proposed changes include, increased frequency of mandatory training, from once every five years to annually. Expanded, mandatory posting of no-entry signs for the most hazardous pesticides and children under 16 will be prohibited from handling pesticides, with an exemption for family farms.
