Jun 7, 2024California pesticide use hearings set for July
To discuss the proposed regulation for a statewide notification system for restricted material pesticide applications, the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) will hold three public hearings in July.
These hearings are aimed to inform the public ahead of pesticide applications.
The hearings are scheduled for:
- Friday, July 12, in Stanislaus County, tentatively in Turlock
- Monday, July 15, held virtually on Zoom
- Tuesday, July 23, in Kern County, tentatively in Wasco
All hearings will take place from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Spanish interpretation will be available at each session.
DPR seeks public participation and feedback on the proposed regulation.
“Our goal is to protect human health and the environment by ensuring transparency and safety in pesticide use,” the DPR said in an email.
