Late blight took a toll on my crop last season. What can I do differently to help prevent a similar situation this season?

— Battling Blight in Island Falls, Maine

You said it – prevent is the key word here! Many growers find
themselves searching for a late blight remedy during the
growing season. If you’re seeing light to dark green, circular to
irregular-shaped water-soaked spots – late blight is beginning
to infest your potato field. Damp weather is conducive to the
disease and a white ‘downy mildew’ will become present on
the leaf. It’s best to take preventive measures and treat your
crop before infection occurs.

Consider using Revus Top® fungicide from Syngenta. It
contains two highly active ingredients, mandipropamid and
difenoconazole, and has proven excellence in fighting many
diseases, including late blight. Plus, Revus Top is equipped
with LOK + FLO™ technology, and when teamed up with the
two active ingredients, provides unwavering disease control
even in adverse weather conditions. Revus Top absorbs easily
into the leaf and offers protection before the onset of disease.
For the best protection, rotate Revus Top with another fungicide
containing a different mode of action, such as Quadris®,
Quadris Opti®, Bravo Weather Stik® or Omega® fungicides.

Do you have more questions about late blight and Revus Top?
Syngenta partners with five universities to support the potato
blight hotlines. The hotlines offer growers information on late blight
conditions in their area and the resources to combat the disease.
