Storing potato seed pieces and preparing them for planting
is both a science and an art. Appropriate handling, cutting
and storage of potato seed pieces is critical, as wounds and
moist, humid air are an open invitation for disease. Cut seed
is vulnerable in a stored environment if the storage conditions
are poorly managed. In general, if the seed is stored, it is
important to have proper airflow and a suitable temperature
and humidity to encourage wound healing. In addition, an
appropriate seed treatment applied on seed pieces will
ward off pathogens that take advantage of the cut surface
and bruises on the seed. CruiserMaxx™ Potatoes insecticide/
fungicide seed treatment is designed with this need in mind.
CruiserMaxx Potatoes contains a drying agent and fungicide
to protect seed if it needs to be stored. |
