I’ve been growing great potatoes for years but after some bad
weather last season, I pulled up my spuds to find them eaten
up by insects and disease. Can you recommend something to
help for next season?

Poor weather conditions, particularly early in the season, provide
unfavorable conditions for the potato crop to establish. Potato
plants that grow under these stressful conditions are vulnerable
to several diseases and insect pests. This problem can impact crop
yields, quality and reduce profits. The estimated U.S. potato crop
loss due to insect and disease accounts for nearly $17 billion
annually. Crop protection in potato production must begin at
planting. Because young potato plants are most vulnerable in
the early stages of growth, I would recommend using a seed
treatment to protect against early season insects and disease.
A seed treatment insecticide/fungicide, like CruiserMaxx™ Potatoes,
offers broad insect and disease protection from the very beginning
and through the majority of the season. |
