The Washington State Potato Commission (WSPC) is seeking candidates for one vacant at-large position on the WSPC board. At-large commissioners can be growers or others involved in the potato industry and voted on by the nine elected commissioners. Those interested in being considered for the at-large position and serving a three-year term on the WSPC should submit a letter of intent by Aug. 31 to the WSPC office at 108 Interlake Road, Moses Lake, WA 98837; via fax to 509-765-4853; or email to [email protected]. For more information, call 509-765-8845. The vote will take place Sept. 6.

The WSPC also is seeking three participants for the Potato Industry Leadership Institute (PILI). Two positions are guaranteed, and the third is subject to approval by the Leadership Institute. The PILI is a 10-day intensive where employees in the potato industry are mentored for future leadership. Sessions on personal skills, the potato industry and Congressional interaction are conducted in a state setting and in Washington, D. C. Costs are covered by the WSPC. Those interested or have employees they would like to experience the program should contact a commissioner or the WSPC office at 509-765-8845.
