USPB Elects New Leadership

The United States Potato Board (USPB) grower membership elected new leadership during its annual meeting in Denver, Colo., March 10-13.

Tom Qualey, Sherman, Maine, was elected chairman. He follows Bart Connors, Pasco, Wash., who is now immediate past chairman.

Co-chairing the domestic marketing committee are Todd Michael, Urbana, Ohio, and Shane Webster, Rexburg, Idaho. Serving on the committee are Carl Ball, Lewisville, Idaho; Kent Bitter, Shelley, Idaho; Tom Campbell, Grafton, N.D.; Ernie Ford, Center, Colo.; Sanjiv Kakkar, Lawrenceville, N.J.; James Hoff, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Rodney Lenz, Wray, Colo.; John Probasco, Chesterfield, N.J.; Kevin Searle, Shelley, Idaho; Tim Stevenson, Lake Delton, Wisc.; and Tim Young, Howard City, Mich.

Sid Staunton, Tulelake, Calif., will serve as chairman of the finance committee, with Chris Olsen, Othello, Wash., and Bruce Richardson, Capeville, Va., as board members.

The international marketing committee will be co-chaired by Lon Baley, Malin, Ore., and Cheryl Koompin, American Falls, Idaho, with committee members Molly Connors, Richland, Wash.; Rob Davis, Connell, Wash.; Eric Halverson, Grand Forks, N.D.; Mike Pink, Pasco, Wash.; Ritchey Toevs, Aberdeen, Idaho; and Steven Whited, Bridgewater, Maine.

The industry communications and policy committee will be co-chaired by Jimmy Harrell, Elizabeth City, N.C., and Monty Smith, Blanca, Colo. Serving on the committee will be Troy Betz, Hermiston, Ore.; Andy Diercks, Coloma, Wisc.; Keith Labrie, Saint Agatha, Maine; and Ron Lehr, Edison, Calif.
