USDA hosting ag business training workshops in Maine

The Northern Maine Development Commission and USDA Farm Service Agency will host a business training workshop in Island Falls, Maine, for agricultural producers. The no-cost workshop will be presented Monday, Nov. 13, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST in Island Falls at the town hall.

The free four-hour workshop will explore record and book keeping, accounting processes, cash flow statements and more. Farm Credit of Maine will also discuss tax planning and preparation. FSA officials will also be on hand to explain federal programs designed to help producers.

This is the first of five different business training workshops for producers and would be producers. Others are scheduled for Littleton, Fort Fairfield, Caribou and the St. John Valley.
