TKI Acquires Herbicide Business from DuPont

Tessenderlo Kerley Inc. (TKI) has purchased the linuron herbicide assets from DuPont Crop Protection, Wilmington, Del. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Linuron herbicide is marketed globally under the DuPont Lorox and Linex brands, as well as several associated mixture trademarks. This specialty herbicide is used primarily in the carrot, asparagus, celery, potato, cotton and soybean markets. TKI will acquire global rights to the linuron business, including trade names, registrations and registration data.

Marketing and development responsibility for the linuron product will be undertaken by TKI’s business unit, NovaSource (www.novasource.com). NovaSource is charged with marketing and developing registered pesticides for niche crop protection and specialty markets.

TKI, based in Phoenix, produces and markets specialty chemical solutions including fertilizers, crop protection chemicals and process chemicals to markets in the United States, Mexico, Central and South America and Europe.
