Jul 18, 2016Storey leaves APRE
After five years as the president and CEO of the Alliance for Potato Research and Education (APRE), Maureen Storey, Ph.D., is no longer leading the organization.
Blair Richardson, president and CEO of Potatoes USA and an APRE board member, said Storey’s position had been eliminated in a restructuring of the organization.
Richardson said that in the five years of APRE’s existence, the role of the organization had evolved, resulting in the leadership change.
The board conducted a strategic planning process this last year, and through that it really didn’t make any sense to continue the structure we had in the past,” Richardson said.
Storey said she was starting her own consulting firm.
“I’m excited that I’ll be able to still utilize the skill sets I have and be able to help companies or other interested organizations achieve their goals by helping them translate nutrition science,” Storey said.
