The U.S. Senate voted in favor of trade promotion authority (TPA) legislation, sending the bill to President Obama for his signature.
Passage of TPA clears one obstacle for the completion of Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations.
TPA, also known as fast track”, allows President Obama to send trade agreements, such as TPP, to Congress to ratify or reject without altering or filibustering the legislation.
