New York & USDA remove 300,000 acres from golden nematode regulations

Darrel J. Aubertine, New York State Department of Agriculture & Marketing commissioner, announced that the department, in conjunction with USDA, is removing more than 300,000 acres from regulation for golden nematode (GN). This represents nearly a quarter of the total acres regulated for GN in the state, and is a first step toward the department’s goal of reducing the total affected GN-regulated area by 90 percent by 2015.
