Marketing Association Joins Empire Expo

Starting next year, the New York State Farmers’ Direct Marketing Association will be joining the Empire State Fruit and Vegetable Expo. Sessions on marketing and promotion will be added to the current schedule of crop and commodity education sessions that already occur at the Expo.

This is a terrific addition for the Expo,” said Lindy Kubecka, executive secretary and co-chair of the Expo. “We are thrilled to have the direct marketing association joining us for the Expo and are looking forward to adding the focused marketing perspective to the show.”

The 2010 Empire State Fruit and Vegetable Expo will be held Jan. 25-27, 2010, at the Oncenter Convention Center in Syracuse, N.Y. The Expo provides growers with a multitude of educational sessions, association meetings and networking opportunities, along with a commercial trade show that offers the latest services, equipment and advances in New York state’s horticultural industry.

Sessions conducted at the Expo include specific commodity sessions that focus on a variety of crops including sweet corn, potatoes, tree fruit and berries, as well sessions on soil health, research, food safety and more.

New for 2010, the Expo will feature a series of daylong sessions focusing specifically on the direct marketing and promotion of fruits and vegetables.

The 2010 Empire State Fruit and Vegetable Expo is sponsored by the New York State Vegetable Growers Association, Empire State Potato Growers, New York State Berry Growers Association, New York State Farmers’ Direct Marketing Association, New York State Horticultural Society, Cornell University and Cornell Cooperative Extension.”
