Late blight found in Washington state

Late blight has been confirmed in Walla Walla County near Burbank, Washington according to a Washington State University (WSU) potato pest alert report by Dennis Johnson, WSU plant pathologist.

This is the earliest we have had late blight in the Columbia Basin,” Johnson said in this WSU Potato Pest Alert.

Johnson recommends that sprinkler irrigated fields in the Burbank, Finley and north Pasco areas should be treated with a late blight fungicide on a 7-day schedule.
