Industry associations launch school food website

The potato industry launched a new website, PotatoesInSchools.com, to inform school foodservice providers, nutrition opinion leaders, consumers, and potato industry stakeholders of the issues surrounding the proposed changes to the School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The USPB worked with the National Potato Council (NPC) to identify the research and science needed to support the campaign. By combining the strength of the Public Relations, Research and Nutrition teams from the USPB and Foodminds (Nutrition Policy Consultants), NPC has been able to develop strong and compelling messages and materials to effectively make this argument.

PotatoesInSchools.com is designed to be the key resource for information supporting the potato industry’s position about the USDA proposed ruling regarding school meal plans.
