Eastern Idaho potato processor Idahoan Foods will receive up to $240,000 from the Idaho Department of Labor’s Workforce Development Training Fund (WDTF) to train 60 new workers at its Idaho Falls plant.
The Idaho Department of Labor’s commitment will enable Idahoan Foods to expand its payroll to 109 workers. The new jobs pay an average of $14.84 an hour.
The WDTF is financed by employers through a three percent setaside on unemployment insurance taxes. It reimburses companies for the costs of training employees for new jobs that pay a minimum of $12 per hour and include employer provided health care.
