Fertilizer plant to be built near Grand Forks, N.D.

Northern Plains Nitrogen plans to build and operate a $1.5 billion nitrogen fertilizer facility near Grand Forks, N.D. The facility will include a 2,200-ton per day ammonia plant along with urea and urea-ammonium-nitrate production facilities.

The plant is expected to be completed and provide fertilizer in time for the 2017 growing season. When operational the plant will provide full-time employment to approximately 135 people.
