Empire Farm Days to feature Spud Nation food truck

The 2016 edition of the Empire Farm Days will welcome the Spud Nation Food Truck, a 2016 initiative of the Potatoes USA. The food truck will visit Rodman Lott and Son Farms in Seneca Falls, New York, Aug. 9-11. Empire Farm Days began as the Potato Field Days organized by the Empire State Potato Growers in the 1930s.

The Spud Nation truck will source its potatoes for its globally-inspired menu at the 2016 Empire Farm Days from McCormick Farms, Bliss, New York, and Williams Farms, Marion, New York. McCormick Farms grows 2,650 acres of potatoes in Western New York. Williams Farms is a potato grower and packer for fresh market and has been the long-term potato provide for Empire Farm Days’ vendors.

Nonprofit organizations managing all of the food options at Empire Farm Days include New York’s beef and pork producers, churches, fire departments, Rotary and other civic groups. The vendors include the NY Beef Producers, NY Corn and Soybean Growers, NY Pork Producers, Lockland School, Ovid Willard Lions Club, Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H Program, Seneca Falls Rotary, Seneca Falls Fire Department, South Seneca Sportsman Club, SpudNation and Fowlers Taffy of Sarasota, Florida.

Stop by the Empire State Potato Growers booth for a free bag of potato chips. Empire Farm Days runs 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Thursday. Parking is $10 per vehicle. Learn more at the Empire Farm Days website or call 877-697-7837.
