Dynasty seed treatment fungicide now available for use on potatoes

Syngenta Seedcare announced today that Dynasty seed treatment fungicide with the active ingredient azoxystrobin is now available for use on potatoes. Dynasty is a proven seed treatment fungicide used extensively in corn, cotton, sunflowers and large seeded vegetables, according to the company.

Dynasty, available exclusively as a partner with CruiserMaxx Potato insecticide/fungicide seed treatment, is a broad-spectrum and highly systemic fungicide that offers improved disease protection against the major classes of fungal pathogens. The addition of Dynasty to CruiserMaxx Potato increases the protection of young potato plants against Rhizoctonia solani and Helminthosporium solani.

Dynasty’s seed-borne protection from Rhizoctonia solani and Helminthosporium solani can prevent black scurf, stem and stolon canker, and silver scurf. In addition, CruiserMaxx Potato protects against a broad-spectrum of sucking and chewing insect pests and all major seed- and soil-borne fungal disease pathogens. In trials, potatoes treated with CruiserMaxx Potato and Dynasty saw a 36 percent reduction in Rhizoctonia compared to the industry standard, according to a company release.

“We are excited to offer the added protection of Dynasty fungicide with CruiserMaxx Potato,” said Chad Shelton, crop manager, Syngenta Seedcare. “With this powerful combination, potato growers will see fast-emerging plants, vigorous early-season growth and improved stand establishment.”
