CPAC holds video contest with Colorado schools

The Colorado Potato Administrative Committee (CPAC) held its first Colorado Potatoes Video Contest. Colorado schools were invited to submit 2-minute videos to answer the question: “Why is it important to eat fruits and vegetables?” and to include Colorado Potatoes in their entries.

“This contest was a great way to get students to learn about nutrition and the importance of healthy eating,” said Linda Weyers, assistant director, CPAC. “Over 40 entries were received, and selecting the winners was difficult.”

The Elementary division winner was Stacy Libal’s 5th grade class from Mary Blair Elementary in Loveland, Colorado, and the Middle/High School division winner was Stephanie Gillen’s 7th grade class from Elbert Elementary School in Elbert, Colorado. Both winning entries can be viewed on the CPAC website.

According to CPAC, the winning classes each received $300 to spend on a party or school supplies, and the teachers each received $300 and one of CPAC’s salad bar donations for their school.
