Campbell to take over as NPPGA chairman

The Northern Plains Potato Growers Association (NPPGA) will be holding its winter meetings at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Feb. 21-23.

At this year’s NPPGA Chairman’s Banquet, Minnesota certified seed grower and current NPPGA Chairman Lonnie Spokely will pass the gavel to Chairman-elect Greg Campbell of Grafton, North Dakota. Campbell is co-owner of Campbell Farms based in Grafton. Campbell Farms raises and packs red and yellow potatoes for the fresh market.

NPPGA will also be posthumously honoring long time potato associate Jim Vistad with the Meritorious Service Award. Vistad’s wife Cheryl and family will be on hand to receive the honor.

The evening entertainment will again be “Jazz on Tap” playing background music to allow growers and associates to visit before and after dinner.

NPPGA will again be offering free registrations to all NPPGA grower/members. The banquet is also open to potato associates and guests for $50. All banquet attendees must pre-register to assist in event planning. Registration and event schedules have been mailed out. Click here to download the registration form.
