BCS offers $10,000 Produce Innovation Award

Bayer CropScience (BCS) is currently accepting applications for its second annual Produce Innovation Award.

The winner of the award will receive a $10,000 grant to advance their innovation or to support a project in their community that also increases the positive contributions of produce in people’s lives and a $2,000 Apple store gift card.

The award recognizes a grower whose innovative efforts improves yield and quality of a produce crop, increases accessibility of produce to a broader group of people or increases demand for produce by expanding awareness and appreciation for the health benefits of fruits and vegetables, including tree nuts and potatoes.

U.S. growers who receive 50 percent or more of their income from the production of a produce crop are eligible to apply for the award. Growers must work in one of the following produce crop areas:

  1. Citrus
  2. Vegetable
  3. Grape
  4. Potato
  5. Pome/Stone fruit
  6. Tree nut

Applications are begin accepted through Jan. 8 at this website.
