Bayer makes $62 billion offer for Monsanto

Bayer publicly disclosed today, May 23, its private proposal to acquire Monsanto.

Bayer has offered to purchase all of the issued and outstanding shares of Monsanto for $122 per share, representing an aggregate value of $62 billion.

We have long respected Monsanto’s business and share their vision to create an integrated business that we believe is capable of generating substantial value for both companies’ shareholders,” said Werner Bauman, CEO of Bayer AG, in the press release.
