Bayer exploring Monsanto purchase

Bayer AG has initiated internal discussions for a possible purchase of Monsanto, according to Bloomberg News.

The Bayer Group is comprised of 307 consolidated subsidiaries based in 77 countries, with its global headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany. Bayer’s current estimated market value is $90 billion.

Monsanto has 404 facilities in 66 countries, with its headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. Monsanto’s current estimated market value is $43 billion.
